John Smith, MMFT, is a Board Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist Associate who brings his warm and engaging personality into the room with his clients. He enjoys working with a wide range of diversity and has a way of making others feel both accepted and inspired regardless of their background. He holds a bachelor's degree in psychology and a master's degree in marriage and family therapy.

John’s clinical background includes walking with individuals, couples, and families through anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, infidelity, grief & loss, and challenging life transitions. He has also spent extensive time working with high school and college aged individuals as well as couples experiencing conflict and communication difficulties.

John received specialized training in Solution-Focused Brief Therapy for working with individuals with a variety of life challenges. In addition, he is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) for more complex trauma work. John is also a Certified Prepare/Enrich Facilitator through Together in Texas for pre-marital counseling. In graduate school, John was a member of the Alpha Chi Honors Society and completed qualitative research through Qualtrix onPornography and Long-term Relationships and presented at the Texas Association for Marriage and Family Therapy Annual Conference.
